Field Experience

Over the span of 13 years in this field, I am grateful to be a guide and witness to healing for diverse populations, in terms of race, culture, age, and level of care. I have had opportunities to work in community mental health settings, schools, and nursing homes within the Chicagoland area. I have been passionate about listening and connecting with vulnerable populations since I began studying psychology during my undergraduate years.

Prior to my work in private practice settings, I worked in various non-profit organizations in the Chicagoland area with folks living in impoverished communities. I provided case management, crisis intervention, and counseling for adults 30-65 y/o with complex mental health struggles.

Additionally, I worked as a school-based counselor with children and young adults in Chicago Public Schools, clients referred from DCFS, along with at-risk youth in community settings. Throughout this time, I was able to provide resources for these families, parenting coaching, crisis intervention, play therapy, behavioral plans, and individual counseling.

My path to understanding my family’s generational trauma has aided me as a healer, as a means to attune with others who want to break their own unhealthy cycles of trauma. I have compassion for anyone who comes from a family with strong values, and enjoy working with clients who want to redefine their identities, or narratives they want to reclaim. I believe everyone deserves a platform to advocate for themselves.
